Where do polar bears live?

Polar bears are found across Arctic. They live in areas with annual sea ice and productive ringed seal populations.  There’s five locations that polar bears live in:  U.S. (Alaska), Canada, Russia, Greenland (Kingdom of Denmark), and Norway (Svalbard). Some polar bears spend part of the year on land. The most important habitats for polar bears are the edges of pack ice where currents and wind interact, forming a continually melting and refreezing matrix of ice patches and leads. These are the areas of where polar bears can find the greatest number of seals.
